Dencity — Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 24 July 2026. Operated by Evert Cornelissen, South Africa. Contact: evertcornelissen@gmail.com. Payments processed by PayFast.
In short: Dencity's paid products (venue boosts and featured listings) are digital and
go live immediately, so once a listing is active it is generally non-refundable. We will,
however, refund you in full where we fail to deliver, where we remove your listing through no
fault of yours, for duplicate or incorrect charges, or where the law requires.
What you're paying for
Dencity sells digital promotion products, priced in South African Rand (ZAR) and shown to you
before payment:
- Boost (R5): features a venue for 24 hours with a badge and higher placement in nearby results.
- Featured venue listings (business plans, from R598): pin a venue near the top of nearby results with a badge and your offer text, for the period purchased.
Delivery & activation
These products are digital — there is no physical delivery. A boost or featured listing is
activated automatically and immediately once PayFast confirms your successful payment, and
then runs for the paid period. If a listing does not activate after a successful payment,
contact us and we will activate it or refund you.
Cooling-off and digital products
Under Section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA), a consumer may
cancel certain electronic transactions within seven days. This cooling-off right does not
apply to digital services that, with your consent, begin to be performed before the end of
that period. Because a boost or listing is activated immediately on payment (with your
consent), the transaction is treated as performed once the listing is live, and fees are
generally non-refundable at that point.
When we will refund you
- Non-delivery: if your payment succeeds but the boost or listing does not activate, and we cannot activate it for you, we refund you in full.
- Removed through no fault of yours: if we remove or suspend a live listing for a reason that is not your fault (e.g. a technical fault on our side), we refund the unused portion on a pro-rata basis.
- Duplicate or incorrect charges: if you are charged twice for the same order, or an incorrect amount, we refund the difference or the duplicate.
- Where the law requires: nothing here limits any refund or cancellation right you have that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law.
When we generally will not refund
- A boost or listing that has already gone live and run (in whole or in part), where the service was delivered as described.
- A listing we hide, edit or remove because it breached our Terms (e.g. inaccurate, misleading, inappropriate or unlawful content).
- Dissatisfaction with the number of views, clicks or foot traffic a listing produces — placement is delivered, but outcomes are not guaranteed.
How to request a refund
Email evertcornelissen@gmail.com within 30
days of the payment, with your PayFast payment reference, the amount, the venue, and a short
description of the problem. We aim to acknowledge within 7 business days. Approved refunds are
made to your original payment method via PayFast, normally within 10 business days of
approval. There is no cancellation fee for a valid refund.
